Ayushmann Khurrana has been known for his rather unconventional choice of films, and continuing with the same is his recent release Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui that tells of a love story with a rather unique twist. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and also featuring Vaani Kapoor the film has received positive feedback from the critics. But will this be enough for the venture to entice the audience and make an impact at the box is the question.

Collecting Rs. 3.75 cr, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui manages to surpass the business of the actor’s previous release Nautanki Saala that had collected Rs. 3.25 cr to become the actor’s sixth highest opening day grosser.
Though the Day 1 collections of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui do not surpass Ayushmann’s previous releases like Bala that collected Rs. 10.15 cr, Dream Girl that collected Rs. 10.05 cr, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan that collected Rs. 9.55 cr, Badhaai Ho that collected Rs. 7.65 cr and Nautanki Saala that collected Rs. 3.25 cr, it does out beat his other releases like Shubh Mangal Saavdhan that collected Rs. 2.71 cr, AndhaDhun that collected Rs. 2.70 cr, and Bareilly Ki Barfi that collected Rs. 2.42 cr.
Going by the current trend, Chandigarh KareAashiqui that faces little to no competition at the box office from previous and new releases is expected to see growth over its opening weekend. In fact, trade predictions claim that Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui could well see its opening weekend collections hovering around the Rs. 18 cr mark.
