Farmland in South Africa remains overwhelmingly in the hands of the white minority, despite the official end of apartheid in 1994
A bid to allow South Africa’s government expropriate land without compensation as a way to redress past injustices flopped on Tuesday after lawmakers rejected a bill to change the constitution.
Apart from the expropriation bills, the justice minister also pointed at other laws in the works including the land court bill and a land redistribution bill.
